Muker Tearoom & Shop – what a cream tea
Great chips…one of the best cream teas, and we’ve tried a lot…
Never been to Muker, Upper Swaledale, The Yorkshire Dales?…GO!
The walking is outstanding – but the cream tea at Muker Tea shop matches the vistas…(the cholesterol is worth it).
We often go across The Buttertubs pass to Muker and there in is Muker Tearoom.
This is one of the best tea shops around The Dales. The scones are consistently excellent and served with the best local jam – by Raydale Preserves (no little pre packed pots), excellent clotted cream (not whipped, the proper way and good quality), and butter – washed down with Yorkshire Tea, can this get better…yes it can, the hand cut chips are excellent too (walk it all off up the beautiful valley walk at the back of Muker up to Crackpot Hall and Keld)
A traditional tea shop serving Homemade Cakes, Cream Teas and Light Lunches and are extremely passionate about the food we produce.
The tea shop has two rooms both with open fires and our outdoor patio has stunning views of Mukerside and Swaledale, the perfect place to stop, take a break and have tea.
The former Victorian Vicarage also houses the Village Store and our en-suite B&B room.
At the heart of Upper Swaledale, Muker is a special place where both the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast walks meet. Swaledale was Alfred Wainwright’s favourite dale and with the finest countryside in the Yorkshire Dales is walking country at its very best.
